Your friendly neighborhood guide to using (and loving) your kitchen.
About Me
Hi, I’m the Gourmand Next Door. I’m a professionally trained chef and sommelier, but I had never put those skills to work in my own kitchen until I was stuck at home during the Covid-19 pandemic. This blog shares what I learned through trial and error, to create a kitchen that I loved and that worked for my family.
If you stick around here long enough….
- You’ll learn to plan a week’s worth of meals without breaking a sweat.
- You’ll never have to make filler trips to the grocery store.
- You’ll learn that an inventory is your best friend (you just don’t know it yet).
- You’ll find yourself wanting to eat at home more than you want to eat out.
- You’ll realize that great food and beverage doesn’t have to cost a fortune; it all comes down to how you spend your money.
- You’ll save money, which will allow you to do more interesting things.
- You’ll save time that you can spend with friends, family, and the things that matter.
And, most of all, you’ll learn to cook, love it, and realize that having a healthy relationship with your kitchen is the key to unlocking a lot of really great things in life.
À votre santé! (To your health!)
